Keyboard Issues on M2 Ultra

TLDR = keyboard/usb/kde issues??? on M2 Ultra

I updated my system sometime yesterday. Today I tried different usb c ports on the back of M2 Ultra with three different keyboards.

The keyboards sometimes work as one would expect. Other times, pressing a keyboard button activates the emoji picker or puts ~8 in terminal. Another example of it not working properly is that pressing s on the keyboard presses sss in any application. Typing is unusable and I don't see any pattern to it.

Replugging the keyboards does not change the behavior. Switching usb ports does not seem to change the behavior. Rebooting the computer does not seem to change the behavior. The shift key also seems to be stuck down on all three keyboards even though all three keyboards do not have any stuck keys. I could not type journalctl or dmesg or anything else to see what is wrong.

Wooting keyboards have always been weird with Asahi but the same behavior was showing with the apple keyboard so I am not sure what is happening.

• M2 Ultra 76 core
• Wooting 80
• Wooting 60
• Apple lightning magic keyboard

I can't reproduce this with a lightning Magic keyboard on a Mac mini M2 Pro (0 of 4 boots). It does not sound like it would be an HW issue so the M2 Pro should be close enough.

Have you tried USB-C ports both on the back and front of the Studio? Can you try the USB-A ports?

Is there constant high CPU load when the issue occurs? Is using the system with mouse/trackpad still possible? How are they connected? USB as well?

You can look at the previous boots journal with journalctl -b-1 -k (just the kernel log).

Is the issue reproducible if the keyboards are not connected during boot and are connected once Linux has booted?
