Can't disable e-mail notifications

Quick summary

I disabled all e-mail notifications but I get notified about every like anyway.

As you ca see, I disabled all common notifications in my user account. But I get them anyway.

Have you disabled them at the right place? It is a user specific setting, so you have to disable them for the blog-user and/or the user!? depending on your blogs setup.

Ah! I briefly enabled the single blog-account. I reenabled that, disabled notifications, and disabled the account again. I think, that was it. Thank you!

I am sorry, I re-checked. This is not really a bug, it is just how WordPress handles comment notifications.

Likes and reposts are stored as comments on your post, and WordPress sends its normal "new comment" email for them. WordPress does not differentiate by comment type, and we do not either, so a like triggers the same author notification as a real reply. That mail is separate from the ActivityPub notification settings, which is why disabling those for the user or the blog-user did not help.

So at the moment there is no way to turn off only the like and repost mails. The only switch is the global "Email me whenever anyone comments" under Settings > Discussion, but that silences all comment mails.

I think we should add our own setting for it, so you can silence the reactions but keep the real replies. I will look into that.
