"State" layer renders color outside boundaries and shows unexpected gray areas (v1.108.6)

Hello, first of all, thank you for your amazing work on the Fantasy Map Generator. I’ve been enjoying using this tool a lot — it’s both powerful and fun to use.

I’d like to report a possible bug I encountered.

Bug description:
When the "State" layer is enabled, the state colors are displayed not only within their boundaries but also outside of them. Additionally, some parts of the State layer are rendered in gray, which does not correspond to any state color and seems incorrect.

Steps I tried to resolve the issue:

• Reviewed the style settings
• Reloaded the page
• Cleared cookies
• Restarted the PC

My environment:

• Fantasy Map Generator version: v1.108.6
• Browser: Floorp 11.26.0 (64-bit)
• OS: Zorin OS 17.2 Core

Hello, the layer had weird styles set. Not sure what is the reason, I didn't see it before. It had completely irrelevant styles. I have fixed it manually, please reply back if you need this issue again.

I fix it manually... It's probably due to some browser extension or bug. Just use the dev tools and set the styles as you can see on a brand new map.

Hi @Azgaar, I had what seemed to be a similar problem on a map generated in Firefox, also using version 1.108.6. When displaying states, a purple shape around the outside of every state appeared. This is what it looked like at 100% state opacity:

I was able to get rid of this by:

1. identifying the color using an eyedropper tool as #5e4fa2 (not for anyone trying this themselves, make sure to set state opacity to 100% first to ensure you get the correct color)
2. finding that color within the .map file as style on the "regions":

3. generating a brand new map and noting that "regions" had no style specified at all:

4. updating the .map file, replacing the "regions" section from 2 with the one from 3

It seems to have fixed this file for me, I'm just adding this info here in case it helps anyone else experiencing a similar problem, or helps you to root cause why it appeared in the first place.
