slither.io servers no longer accepting protocol 10

I have been working on a copy of Slyther, which is protocol 10 based. As of today, the server disconnects me during login. :(

This seems right, however this documentation describes protocol 11, which still works. So the problem is with Slyther, not this documentation.
You can report an issue there, or fix it yourself (and make a PR to gegy1000/Slyther).
The difference between 10 and 11 is mainly the custom skin, which requires some additional information in some packets. See Mat2095/MySlither@90fd57b on how I had to change my implementation to work with protocol 11.

Mine works with protocol version 10, 11, and 12. They were using 11 but rolled it back to 10 (from the slither.io client). Not sure why.

@githubranduser are you sure about that? For me the current official slither.io client sends 10 in the init-packet, so it uses protocol 11.

That's interesting that yours works. I wondered if I could perhaps tweak the user-agent string.
I was surprised it stopped working because that means any non-upgraded apps also stopped working.

In the official slither.io client it was sending 11 in the init packet (so I guess that means it was 12?) when i started playing with this but within the last day or two they rolled it back to being 10 (so I guess that means its 11). But can use 10, 11, or 12 in the preInitResponse; it makes no difference, all 3 let me in, all 3 provide me with the same response.

So, when I thought I was trying to change from 10 to 11 to 12 ... I was not, I thought i was changing it but I ended up not actually including it at all. The server STILL let me connect. But because I didn't supply the correct version #, I got responses from the server that were from versions ago. Anyway, so I can connect regardless of version but the version does change the responses I get from the server.
