Description

@e3bo

What is the new information you would like included? Please describe and add specific references and links you would want included if known.

Members should be aware of the sendfiles service provided by UGA EITS. It allows someone to send messages with attachments of up to 2G in a manner more secure than email.

Does this information fall under an existing section of the work? Which one?
List an existing section (add an 'x' to the [ ]):

  • Linux and HPC
  • Data Management
  • Software/SaaS
  • Project Management
  • Data Visualization
  • Writing the Manuscript

The scope of the wiki is that it must be specific to the Drake Lab. Please provide reasoning that this isn't too generalizable to include.
A clear reason why this is Drake Lab specific:

Members of the Drake lab have special IT resources available to them through UGA (for use to do UGA business). Part of orienting new members should be making sure they are aware of all resources that they may need. Additionally, new members should be made aware that email is not a secure means of transferring sensitive data. Further, I've several times hear members ask about simple ways to transfer large files. For that particular problem, they may also like to know about UGA OneDrive.

If it is fairly general, are you okay with a quick overview and then links to other resources?
Yes.
