why "^M" in /etc/ppp/pap-secrets?

Hi,
Do you have any idea why there is the "^M" in the file /etc/ppp/pap-secrets? Is this normal?

It seems ok in Linux. However, when I cloned this repo in my OSX, the terminal gave me an output like "Unexpected EOF". BTW, Have you ever tried this code on OSX platform? Or do you have any solutions for netkeeper account on OSX platform?

• That ^M is the keyboard equivalent to \r.
• We never tried on OSX platform.

Later on I saw another solution related to netkeeper on OpenWRT platform, I realized those strings are related to the algorithm used in netkeeper. It just looks strange at first sight. Thanks, anyway :)
