[Bug]: Tree background discrepanies in indigo

Description

The tree background in indigo should be set to the tree-node. At the moment it's set to the host, that holds the spacing between the items too and it leads to visual discrepancy.

Reproduction

1. Open the Tree Sample (preferably in the Angular Dev Demos)
2. Create a custom theme for the tree, setting the $background property.
3. Observe how it behaves and where the background is set.

Is this a regression?

No or unsure. This never worker, or I haven't tried before.
