static electricity triggers all videos at once

I'm having issues with static electricity and my player. Sometimes a static electrical charge will trigger all videos to play at once. And after a few times of this will prevent the button from even triggering the videos and has to be reset. Is there a way in the coding to prevent this from happening so that the static electrical charge won't make the pi think it's a button push. Thanks.

I think I had a similar issue. You could try and activate internal_pullup and make the button so that on push it connects the line to ground. In that way the pin is when it is not used high and this would help noise not to disturb it.
Did it improve the situation?

How do I activate internal pull-up? I currently have two switches running off of pins 2 and 3 which I found have internal pull-ups internally. Do I just have to state the in the code? and where? Also I found this, https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=134394, but not sure how this debounce code needs to be placed in the haptic code. Thanks.

GPIO.add_event_detect(gpiopin, GPIO.FALLING, callback=on_press_parallel, bouncetime=300)

looking for a software fix. I tried hardware fixes and nothing worked. Would the debounce coding work? Seems like I'm going to keep getting false signals, just need to make sure the pi doesn't read those as button pushes.

I think i fixed the debouncing with the bouncetime in the code you stated and the internal pullup is set there as well. Which Buttons are you using and how are they wired. Did you disable all other event detects for the other pins used in the example they might trigger it as well.

Yeah i feel you. Hard to tell from the distance though where the error is but i am sure if you keep at it you'll find the issue!
