Visual bug when switching themes

Description of bug

When switching between the dark and bright themes, visual bugs may occur as UI elements (e.g. drop-down menus and buttons) will appear as if the user is still using the theme they just switched from. You can tell it's wrong because some of the text is pretty much unreadable in these screenshots.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open settings and and change the theme to Dark (or Bright).
2. Close settings, open settings again, and set the theme to Bright (or Dark).
3. Open settings again and notice that the buttons (or drop down menus) look like the ones of the wrong theme.

Suspected cause

Might be something about the graphics for those elements not initializing properly the first time. I dunno, haven't looked at the source code yet and this is just a guess.
