Too much RAM needed to build

Describe the bug
When building, RAM usage was recorded as at least 16GiB. Is this normal for a Cosmic application? If that's the case, I'm really disappointed about Cosmic. I would miss the 1.x version with gtk.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Build openscq30-gui
2. Look at RAM usage

This is definitely not normal. It peaks at 4.5GB ram when building openscq30-gui in release mode for me. For comparison, I checked with v1.19.3, and that peaks at 1.9GB.

You could try building with thin LTO instead of fat using CARGO_PROFILE_RELEASE_LTO=thin cargo build --release. That decreases the memory usage down to 2.5GB. I should probably recommend that anyway since it cuts compile time in half.
