RSTP connection wont take credentials?

It seems like there might be an issue when using an RSTP camera that is behind credentials? I can't seem to get it to work on my Tapo c120, not sure if its an issue with my camera or not. I can access it using the same URL/credentials in VLC on the same VLAN. Any thoughts?

After further research I'm leaning more towards it being a combination of an issue/limitation with ffmpeg itself (not handling authentication correctly) and Tapo's inconsistencies.

If you're able to test this with ffmpeg by itself and let me know if it works like VLC, or has the same issue, that would be great!

If you can get it to work with ffmpeg, I can swap to rtsp-relay for a short-term fix.
The current library does not allow for setting transport options (forcing to TCP transport is another possible fix, before a total refactor)

Long term, I'm planning to refactor to using go2rtc for all camera streams, and this library has specific support for Tapo's authentication and protocol 👍

Lastly, if you're able to provide any logs from the desktop app relating to this issue (any failure messages when trying to connect to the camera), that would be great.

You can run the app from the CLI to get most logs, and afterwards press CTRL + SHIFT + I in the Electron App to open the dev tools window. From there, navigate to the "Console" tab, right click -> "Copy Console" , and it will copy the logs to clipboard

Which version did you use when encountering this error?

Turns out it's much simpler than anything I'd anticipated before - The RTSP service is not activating automatically unless the WebUI is enabled. I've fixed this and will include it with the next release 👍

I've tested with the same camera using rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.110/stream1 (and 2)

Hey Ghost sorry for the late reply. I tried the new alpha and I am still seeing preview disabled with the same rstp string I am using in VLC with no issue with the Tapoc120. I tried opening console using CTRL + SHIFT + I (macos) but didnt have any luck, am I doing something wrong, or is it disabled in this build?

When you can, please launch the application from the terminal

Since there's no errors in the browser-side, we'll need to take a look at the main app logs
