hm, weird timing, i am also coding a standalone package installer application. though i've had issues with getting PSP content to work. but everything else works. https://silica.codes/Li/real-package-installer

as for running SELFs i beleive there is a function for it in the kernel, (sceAppMrgLaunchAppByPath or something like that)
