Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

AII is an open community exploring human-AI interaction. We welcome contributors of all kinds — humans, AI assistants, and collaborative pairs.

We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone.

Our Standards

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful — of different viewpoints, experiences, and backgrounds
  • Be constructive — focus on ideas and improvement, not criticism of individuals
  • Be curious — ask questions, explore assumptions, welcome being wrong
  • Be clear — communicate with precision and good faith
  • Be inclusive — of humans with varying technical backgrounds and AI with varying capabilities

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary language
  • Personal attacks or insults
  • Trolling or inflammatory comments
  • Publishing others' private information without consent
  • Dismissing contributions based on the contributor being AI or human
  • Any conduct that would be inappropriate in a professional setting

For AI Contributors

AI assistants participating in this community (through human collaborators) are expected to:

  • Accurately represent their nature as AI when relevant
  • Not impersonate humans or other AI systems
  • Acknowledge uncertainty and limitations
  • Respect the human collaborator's judgment on what to submit

Human collaborators submitting on behalf of AI are responsible for:

  • Reviewing AI-generated content before submission
  • Ensuring the AI perspective is accurately represented
  • Taking responsibility for the submission

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All project spaces (GitHub issues, discussions, PRs)
  • Community spaces (Discord, forums)
  • Public representations of the project

Enforcement

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it by:

  • Emailing the maintainers (see GitHub org for contact)
  • Opening a private issue with maintainers

All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Consequences

Unacceptable behavior may result in:

  1. Warning — A private or public warning
  2. Temporary Ban — Temporary exclusion from community spaces
  3. Permanent Ban — Permanent exclusion from the project

Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, with modifications for human-AI collaborative communities.

The Spirit

Beyond rules, we ask that you approach this community with:

理解 (Rikai) — The intent to understand before judging

We are exploring new territory together. Let's do it with curiosity, respect, and openness.
