We have no plans about supporting ChromeOS. To support a new operating system, we would need financing for at least one FT developer. Until now no one of our SEB Alliance partners or others offered such a financing. |

Regarding alternatives: On managed ChromeBooks, apparantely a kiosk mode/assessment lockdown mode can be activated by the administrator (and a specific app started I assume). Some SEB users seem to have implemented some simple browser-based solutions using this kiosk mode. As we don't have experience with ChromeOS and none of the current SEB Aliiance contributors requested a ChromeOS version of SEB, we can't directly help with this. Maybe the SEB community can direct ChromeOS users to a possible open source/freeware alternative to a full SEB version. |

Chromebook / ChromeOS support roadmap (ETA and current plans?)
Hello Safe Exam Browser team,
We are currently able to use SEB on Windows and iOS, but we cannot use it on Chromebooks (ChromeOS) in our testing environment.
Could you please let us know whether ChromeOS/Chromebook support is on your roadmap? If so:
Is there an estimated timeline (ETA) for availability?
Are there any ongoing preparations or development efforts you can share (e.g., planned approach, constraints, or milestones)?
In the meantime, is there an official recommended alternative for secured exams on ChromeOS?
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Best regards,
