Nameplate rejected as "out of date" after using Windower dev branch  #6

Hi,

I’m having an issue where Nameplate v0.5.1.0c is rejected by Windower with:
“This plugin is out of date.”

Here is my situation in detail:

  • Windower 4, currently on the stable branch
  • Nameplate version: v0.5.1.0c (official release)
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Nameplate worked correctly before

What changed:

  • I updated Silmaril
  • Around the same time, I had temporarily switched Windower to the dev branch
    (dev)
  • I later reverted back to the stable branch
    (stable)
  • After this, Nameplate started being rejected as “out of date”

What I tested:

  • Reinstalled Nameplate.dll from the official release
  • Confirmed Windower is on the stable branch
  • Restarted Windower and the system
  • Verified correct plugin path (plugins/Nameplate.dll)

Result:

  • Nameplate is still rejected as “out of date”
  • Other plugins load normally

I also noticed a recent fork (loonsies/Nameplate) with commits related to plugin exporting,
which made me wonder if recent loader validation changes in Windower could require a rebuild.

Questions:

  • Is this expected behavior after switching to the dev branch?
  • Does Nameplate need to be rebuilt against a newer Windower SDK/loader?
  • Is there a recommended workaround for Windower users?

Thanks for your work on Nameplate — it’s still the best solution for fixing FFXI nameplate rendering.
