Bug: Copy and pasting large amounts of the station is buggy

What happened?

Copy and pasting large amounts (sometimes even frequently) will cause the whole program to start breaking down.

Issue 1 - Copy and paste begins to fail. When attempting to copy a new selection of items it won't copy and will instead paste a blank black area.

Issue 2 - During this unstable period you can accidentally delete the previous copy, even though it's not selected anymore. I've just lost way over 4 hours of work because the map editor decided to do this. There are no back ups or references, I can't even remember all I did. I think I am done mapping for a long time...

issue 3 - Saving after this point is a gamble. I lost.

issue 4 - Copy and paste will sometimes copy selections not in the copied area if it does work

Reproduction

I've had this issue so much I am surprised nobody else reported it or found it. Just go ahead and copy and paste 1/3 of a station from one Z level to the next, go back to the previous Z level and copy smaller things. Probably will be broken at that point.

What I've done was that but I then went to another map file and copied a small portion of something.

Multiple logs of the whole session just in case. What you want is probably the largest one.

I have a new picture with more information about this topic.

The issue seems to be that copy and pasting between layers somehow causes the map editor to start acting weird. I think I copied something on one layer and then pasted on another when it broke.

As for the picture you see two black areas on the left. You can see a large black hole with radiation signs and you can see an area below it (still on the left) where a tile is highlighted. I copied and pasted between layers (maybe even click dragging between layers) and the map editor deleted both rooms.

This is probably how an entire map got deleted by mistake, considering I originally copy and pasted the entire map between layers.
