Sorry for the late reply. This arrived while I was in the middle of a big project and I'm just now able to reply. Short answer: Yes! There are a number of providers that are similar: FORTIGATE and ADGUARDHOME are providers that only support a specific list of record types (A, AAAA, CNAME, etc). This would be similar. The concern is that testing would be difficult since I don't have a RouterOS device. However as long as you're willing to run the test suite occasionally and respond to bug reports, it shouldn't be a concern. Best, |

Hello all!
I like having my homelab DNS done via dnscontrol, as I can try out different servers without having to manually retype all my "sites" (domains) and their records.
I now have a few sites that only have a single MikroTik router and only a few records. For consistency, and possible future migration to other vendors, I'd love to store those domains in dnscontrol too.
RouterOS (MikroTiks OS) provides an REST API for configuration and the
ip/dns/staticconfig tree supports common types (A, AAAA, CNAME, SRV, TXT, ...), however I don't think of it as a "real" DNS server, as it doesn't support zones. (The zone itself would have to be appended to the record name, as the command is basicallyadd name=$record.$zone type=A address=a.b.c.d).Would you want such a provider in dnscontrol?
Thanks & kind regards!
