During regression testing of Compare after #12622, I noticed that Subtitle Edit 4 scrolls both subtitle panels synchronously, while Subtitle Edit 5 allows each panel to be scrolled independently.
I would suggest adding an optional Sync scrolling checkbox, for example between Ignore formatting and Export, or wherever you think it would fit best in the Compare window.
When enabled, both subtitle panels would scroll together, matching the behavior of Subtitle Edit 4. When disabled, the current independent scrolling behavior would remain available. This would preserve the current Subtitle Edit 5 behavior while also providing the synchronized workflow familiar to Subtitle Edit 4 users.
Synchronized scrolling is useful when comparing corresponding subtitle entries because both panels remain visually aligned. Independent scrolling is still useful when the files have shifted numbering, missing entries, or significantly different structures.
Do you think this would be a useful option for the Compare window?
Thank you for considering it.
