Why are you nominating this person?

I am a Geospatial Evangelist and changemaker. I would like to actively contribute to the geospatial community and foster connections across industries. I believe I would be a good admin as I am very involved in the community (attend conferences and events), always engaging in outreach programs, and I am active in the Geospatial Professionals Network. I currently work as a Geospatial Engineer in the UAS industry and have previously worked as a GIS professional in academia, non-profits, and I have worked for a municipality. I believe I bring a wide-array of experience to the table and look forward to developing the community and expanding outreach.

What do you currently like about the community?

I currently love the introductions tab as well as the sub-tab formatting within Slack. I believe the sub-threads cover a wide variety of topics and are very inclusive.

What would you consider changing about the community, if anything?

I believe the Discourse forum is a great add to the Slack community. I do believe that adding community engaging events or mapathons would be a nice add to foster connections. Maybe adding more industry-specific threads or sub-communities would be helpful.

Which of the listed admin tasks would you be most able to support?

I would most be able to support:

• Send account invites to join the community
• Remove spam, enforce code of conduct
• Guide updates to code of conduct when necessary
  -Maintain an active presence in the community to welcome new people
• Website updates, document updates
• Prune the channel list when it gets large, help identify and consolidate subcommunities to reach critical mass

Any other special skills or relevant experience?

I have experience in full stack development and maintaining websites. I am involved with the Geospatial Professional Network and have worked across industries. I've taken part in mapathons and other community mapping events.

What channels do you currently spend time in - or, what are your areas of experience?

I spend the most time in introductions - for reaching out to new members and setting up calls to network. I also spend time in arcgis, python, and remote sensing as these are the areas I am most interested in. I have experience in programming, public works, environmental science, and aviation.
