Why are you nominating this person?
I am passionate about continuing to build the Geospatial Community worldwide. I would be very interested in helping it grow and reach more people who may not want or have funding to be part of formal paid memberships in the industry. As someone who constantly gets requests for information on what's going in the community, I often refer them to join The Spatial Community on Slack, and I've over the years participated here and there,e sharing information, etc..
What do you currently like about the community?
It's free and inclusive - someone who struggled years ago to know what's happening, I think this kind of community is crucial!
What would you consider changing about the community, if anything?
Figuring out how to get the Slack account paid for or sponsored by Slack or by organizations/companies so it can have sustainment and longer memory than 90 days.
Which of the listed admin tasks would you be most able to support?
-Send account invites to join the community
Maintain our various bots
Plan additional fun community events (such as AMAs - we haven't done these in a long time though, but an admin could).
Any other work that improves the community
Any other special skills or relevant experience?
I host community events, teach, etc and would like to figure out how to incorporate them from the community to the community for various topics in geospatial.
What channels do you currently spend time in - or, what are your areas of experience?
events calendar is something new that I like,
I spend time in introductions, have posted in jobs, etc
Where in the world are you located, and what timezone are you in?
Washington, DC, GMT-5
