App shortcuts #482

I strongly support this. For me, the whole point of winboat is to obfuscate the fact that I run a Windows app and integrate it as seamlessly as possible into my desktop environment. The process of firing up winboat (and wait), load the list of apps (and wait), search for my app among the many apps I will never ever need, and to finally start it up, completely counters this point in my view. I love the winboat approach and all the eye candy put into it, but feel that usability still needs a boost. |

Agreed, I would even settle for favourites or pinning to the top of the app list in Winboat itself in the interim. I believe Winapps handles shortcuts like you describe, but needs more manual setup compared to the convenience of WinBoat |

A feature I’d really love to see in the future is app shortcuts. Basically, in the Apps section, you could right-click an app and choose something like “Create Shortcut,” and it would generate a shortcut in the Applications folder, on the desktop, or even in a custom directory. That way you could launch an app directly without having to open the WinBoat app first. Maybe this is already a feature, and I'm just dumb, but I'd really love a feature like that if it's possible 🙏
For example, I'm on Hyprland, and I'd appreciate it if I could just open Photoshop or something directly from Wofi instead of having to open WinBoat first.
