latex is not rendered under second layer of nested list; refreshing issues

for example:

1. layer1
2. layer1
   • layer2
   • layer2 $\theta$ <-- this would not be rendered

also, when I revised *.tex.md it doesn't seem to refresh and I have to delete the rendered .md to get it to refresh again

update: I think I simply was too impatient on the refresh issue

I'm also having this problem . My README.tex.md file looks like this, and the nested item is not rendered properly...

    - linear regression where an intercept and slope are calculated
    - Also, $n\text{}$ is the number of observations

@5loaves-2fish-12basckets which issue are you referring to? I also made a question on SE to try to address this problem.
