Start app in the background

Is there a way to start the application without having the window come up ? I want to start Valent silently in my window manager.

Yep, you can start Valent with the flag --gapplication-service:

# Flatpak
flatpak run --command=valent ca.andyholmes.Valent --gapplication-service

# Distribution package
valent --gapplication-service
