or at least add as an option up front to enable. i always forget to manually enable this in pacman.conf. then i kick myself when the packages start downloading.

This option is already available when using archinstall with the --advanced flag

that's good. thanks for the reply. looks like the --advanced flag only exposes this one additional option. why not just make it part of the basic options then?

Because we add/remove things behind this flag every now and then.

And this particular option can have consequences on mirrors if all users make uneducated choices basically:)
