Dev branch, create tests to make sure changes don't break functionality, actions to marge on main of tests pass

- create with Jest, make a list of what you can test and add the required tests
- maybe create a branch caled dev, and a github action to only merge from dev when dev passes all the tests?  - get inspiration from michael's prject
