Simos 18.1

Hi, I’m currently doing an engine conversion in a vw caddy with ea888.3 engine, I am using a simos 18.1 Ecu and I’m trying to de-immobilise it on bench as I don’t have the vehicle that immo is programmed to but I cannot even unlock the Ecu as I’m not getting past “upgrading to programming session”. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Thanks

No, you need to use a boot mode tool like my Simos18_SBOOT project or another commercial tool. You can't enter a programming session without immobilizer release on stock AppSW.
