Provide a toggle option in the vehicle control screen (or maybe only holomap) that changes unit selection and orders to RTS style.
When enabled:
- drag box selection of units
- right click to create "move to" waypoint for selected units
- right click on hostile unit for attack
- shift 1234 (!"£$) to mark current selection as a group
- 1234 to select group
