I created a tool for my data analyst agent that generates chart data based on a user's question. However, it keeps selecting the same chart types repeatedly. To improve this, I started explaining the available chart types and their use cases in the system prompt.
Now I'm thinking about creating a skill file (Markdown) that describes each chart type, the kind of data it is best suited for, and when it should be used. This way, anyone can simply drag and drop the file, and the AI can read it through the skills tool instead of relying on a long system prompt.
