HTML compatibility with TextForElement() function

Why can't I obtain the string "more text" with TextForElement() function?

more text

This seems to be a ridiculous bug. In my case I have:

<p>Text here<br/>More text here</p>

There doesn't seem to be any way to get the second line of text. It's completely dropped by the parser unless I'm making some huge mistake.

It's ridiculous that parentNode can NOT have text.

123 will be ignored
