Begin testing across many browsers

The current state of browsers (and specifically browser engines) means that these are the browsers I'd like to test with, if I can:

Desktop browsers

• Chrome (Desktop) – Covers the Blink engine.
• Safari (macOS) – Covers desktop WebKit.
• Firefox (Desktop) – Covers the Gecko engine.
• Edge (Desktop) – Technically also still Blink, but worth a test, due to popularity.

Mobile browsers

• Safari (iOS) – Essential for the mobile WebKit environment.
• Chrome (Android) – Covers the mobile Blink environment.

It looks like BrowserStack offers free open source testing. I may well switch to them.

Once I have got this up and running, I can determine whether some of the old workarounds I used to support are still required. I might be able to retire one or more of them (in which case, no need to reimplement).

• Entering date values into an <input type="date">
• Updating <select> elements using a JS workaround
• Updating <select multiple> elements with modifier keys
