Darktable 5.6.0 crashes when using Rotate and perspective module

Describe the bug

Attempting to straighten images via Rotate and perspective results in system crashes.

Steps to reproduce

Perform rotate and perspective on either NEF or denoised dng images crashes rotate and perspective

Expected behavior

Function normally

GPU Nvidia GTX 960
OS is installed on SSD, images are on external HDDs NTFS formatted
Using GNOME X11 DE

Are you using OpenCL GPU in darktable?

Yes

If yes, what is the GPU card and driver?

GPU Nvidia GTX 960 - 2GB VRAM - Latest Linux driver version 580 updated via OS. AI settings is set to CPU in DT.

Please provide additional context if applicable. You can attach files too, but might need to rename to .txt or .zip

Images have only basic pipeline modules applied on DT startup. I normally apply Rotate and perspective before performing other changes.

I've processed many images using the AI denoise tool. Started with the Nightly Build some time ago before the release of 5.6.0. Never had hassles with it or it's output file. Currently only using the production release (AppImage). Currently it does not matter whether it is the original image or the denoised image. The moment I activate the Rotate and perspective module, DT crashes.

Had to rename the files to .txt to upload

EDIT: You have a pretty small GPU so there might be one of these problems

1. Is it working fine with OpenCL disabled?
2. There have been some late fixes for CPU bound code in highlights module, that might already do something bad due to OOM access.

Thanks for the recommendation re OpenCL. The Rotate and Perspective module is working fine with OpenCL disabled.
I suspected that it may be very well the GPU that I have. I'm not into gaming and the 2GB version was fine for my requirements at that point in time when I got it. A 5GB version of the same card was released later on.
What I do find very strange is that the nightly builds I used mostly worked well, except shortly before the production release. And the resulting crashes is only restricted to the Rotate and perspective module, all other modules worked fine with OpenCl enabled.

I'm fairly new to Linux, my understanding to use ashift one has to set up drives (ssd and/or hdd} as pools which I have not done (yet). Not using NAS drives or something similar. Internal drives are WDC ssd and external drives NTFS via bog-standard USB 3.0 docking stations.

"ashift" is the internal module name for Rotate and Perspective. Nothing to do with drives....

Almost, we need the complete logs if the ashift module makes darktable crashing, the posted logs look completely fine, the module in question is not touched while being in darkroom

There won't be "complete" logs as the ashift module causes DT to crash the moment one touches the activate button in the panel, thus I doubt that anything would be recorded. It happens before even attempting to perform any alignment adjustment within the module.
