Comment on the documentation: The specific role of DDIInstance becomes not clear from the documentation. There should be place on the top page explaining the use of DDIInstance as a top-level wrapper.
There is also no information on Fragments available, as far as I can see.

I found in the example that Fragment is now called ItemContainer. In the docs there is no mention of it. I also learned from the example about the element TopLevelReference - this should be explained at the main entry page. Both elements are not accessible from the docs. Maybe it's clear that they are not belong to "All Item Types" nor "All Content Items", but somewhere they should be mentioned.
