Today I was offered an Eclipse update, so I installed it and re-tested the LSP editor. I no longer see the errors in the log that I saw before, also the commands in compile-commands.json look more complete (see fragment below). However, I am now getting a new error in the log file, which may be related to the original one because it's also a system include extraction problem. Here is the error message:

Thanks for looking into this.

There are several projects, all open source. They are all in github repositories belonging to Duet3D. Page https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Building-RepRapFirmware lists the projects required in the Eclipse workspace and other build instructions. You will probably be able to recreate the problem with just projects CoreN2G, FreeRTOS and RRFLibraries in the workspace. Please use the 3.6-dev branches. Let me know if you have any issues recreating the error.

Hello @dc42 , I am sorry but I have followed the steps from https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Building-RepRapFirmware using 3.6-dev branches, but I am not able to reproduce the issue above.

In your example describing the issue I see paths like : Duet3Expansion/src/CAN/CanMessageQueue.cpp . I am not sure if you just renamed the RepRapFirmware-3.6-dev or you are building another project. (If I am buiding RepRapFirmware-3.6-dev it looks to me that the compile_commands.json contins the options set on the project).

Can you please mention the exact steps you followed in order to reproduce the problem and how you checked it?

@dc42 , I managed to find difference between options sent to compile_commands.json and the ones present on the makefile for the RepRapFirmware project. Will continue with investigateing the cause here. Thank you!

Hi Alice, I'm glad you found a difference. Regarding the paths in my original example, I was building a different project, Duet3Expansion. It's another top-level project similar to RepRapFirmware and it uses the same other projects as libraries. If you add that project (branch 3.6-dev again) to the workspace and build that one instead of RepRapFirmware, you should see the same results that I did.
