@dgafka Is it possible to disable deduplication for a polling projection in Ecotone? We would like to know if this is configurable per projection or if deduplication is always enforced by design. Additionally, from our perspective, deduplication for polling projections seems unnecessary. Since polling projections already read events sequentially from the event store and control their own positions, it feels like deduplication adds extra complexity without much benefit in this case. |

Hi!
We have a question regarding the behavior of polling projections and database transactions.
We observe that each polling projection appears in PostgreSQL (pg_stat_activity) with state: idle in transaction between polling iterations.
Example:
So it looks like:
Is this the expected behavior for polling projections in Ecotone,
or should transactions normally be closed between polling iterations?
We just want to understand whether this is by design or if we might be misinterpreting what we see.
Additionally, could having polling projections in idle in transaction state for a longer time affect VACUUM or autovacuum behavior in PostgreSQL?
Thanks in advance 🙏
