Improved item viewing layouts

There are several problems with the UI (especially topics, notes, and documents) right now. Here are a couple-- we can add more & make smaller issues referring to this one.

• Text blocks are too wide/small to be legible.
• Tabs as we use them now might not be the best way to present items' information. Often, the information in one or more (or all!) of an items' tabs is sparse or even blank. That defeats the point of tabs in the first place-- to present a lot of "stuff" that wouldn't fit well on a single page (but should still be part of the same view space). In my opinion, tabs are most effective when presenting multiple instances of the same thing (browser tabs, chat tabs, etc.).
