Epic 8: Data annotation for visualization in modern viz tools

A nice feature to have would be automatic (or semi-automatic) data annotation for visualization using bokeh, plotly, mpl, altair, etc. Some annotation schemes include vega and holoviews. This probably needs some flushing out in terms of scope and design prior to implementation.

Definitely +1 for this. Ultimately, I think this may require a bake-off between a few options to see which looks most promising but it will require effort.
