temp HTML files created in MarkdownPreview do not get deleted as soon as the text editor is closed.

Did I get the feature use wrong ? Temp folder gets filled with the HTML render but does not get deleted later ? It should not be saved by default atleast for me. Is there something I can toggle in the plugin settings ?

We do not have any logic to auto clear temp folders on editor close. You can store it in your OS temp and let them manage when that gets cleared.

In Firefox snap package you cannot open files in the /tmp directory due to permission issues. https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1972762

If I recall correctly, it's the reason I did #175, although I didn't write it in the commit message, which is unusual for me.

Arguably this is a Snap, Firefox, etc. issue. A very frustrating one.

I don't think there is a good fix for this, other than garbage collection functionality, being careful that it isn't going to delete non-markdownpreview tmp files.

Aside from configuring where you want your temp files, that is all we offer. We don't do garbage collection of any kind, and honestly, that extends beyond what I'm interested in supporting.

I'm open to looking at a PR, but I make no promises of merging. It would depend on a lot of things: approach, reliability, complexity, etc.
