GSoC 2026 Proposal Draft – FireForm (Feedback Request) #333

Hello FireForm team,
My name is Swasti Mishra, and I am a GSoC 2026 applicant. I have submitted my proposal titled:
“Enhancing Reliability in FireForm’s AI Pipeline through Validation and Modular Design.”
I’ve attached my full proposal below and would really appreciate any feedback or suggestions from the mentors.
While working on this, I spent some time understanding the current pipeline:
Natural Language Input → LLM Extraction → Structured JSON → PDF Mapping
My proposal focuses on improving reliability by introducing:
A schema-based validation layer
Cross-field consistency checks
Explicit error handling and fallback mechanisms
A more modular pipeline design to prevent error propagation
Before proceeding further, I wanted to check if my direction aligns with the project’s current priorities.
Specifically, I would love feedback on:
Whether focusing on validation and reliability is a high-impact direction for FireForm
If there are any existing efforts or planned changes in this area that I should align with
Suggestions on where I can start contributing immediately (validation, testing, or pipeline improvements)
I am also planning to start contributing small pieces (validation modules / test cases) and would appreciate guidance on where these would be most useful.
