No tab opens for the search results

Using firefox 147.0.2 on Windows 11 with BigSearch 3.7.1. All other extension are disabled.
In Setings: "Browser Privacy: strict" and "Block popups". Browser sidebar is closed.

I click on the BigSearch toolbar icon, then I enter a search string in the popup window's search bar, I click on 'Multimedia', then I click on 'Search' behind YouTube.

I see a blue arrow highlight for a short time to the right of my tab list (I have about 20 tabs open), but no new tab is created. However, my browser history shows a new entry "Paris - YouTube".

I just noticed that the new result tabs were actually opened, but at the very left end of my tab list, which was invisible, since I was sitting at the right end.
