This would be great, but how does one even run non HA stuff on the HA OS?

I'm not very familiar with HA's bluetooth API, but I would imagine it being a major rewrite if you want it to run inside HA. A different strategy could be to run it separately and write the values to mqtt or something similar, which then could be setup as a sensor inside HA.

Another option could be to use an ESP32 with https://github.com/takeru/Wiimote, and exposing the measurements via http or posting to mqtt directly from the esp32, that would make it completely independent of bluez and dbus.

I like the idea of a HA integration though, makes the board much more accessible.

Thank you... I meant like an add-on or integration or whatever method other Bluetooth devices use.
