search function in the logger and a button to open the text editor with the logs inside

Opening the current logfile in the default text editor is straight forward using Qt's QDesktopServices class, so this can be done by adding a tool bar and an action in the dock widget.

However implementing a fully fledged text search (requiring a search bar and search options) for the logger is quite some work and in addition might turn out tricky to implement as the logger continuously appends text.
