Suggestion: Ability to control soldering iron through battery pack from the web interface.

I think my title sums up this suggestion, but here is more detail.

What am I suggesting?

I would love to see a feature added to the web interface, where you can control soldering irons connected to the battery pack through the web interface. Currently, the interface just states that there is an iron connected. As can be seen:

I am suggesting that, instead of this screen, you get taken to the interface for the soldering iron, or a modified version of it to fit in a pop up window.

Why am I suggesting this?

The battery pack does provide accurate control over the iron, but I am sure there are some people who wouldn't mind seeing and controlling the temperature of their soldering iron on a larger screen. Changing settings could also be useful depending on what you are working on.

I also mentioned in a comment, (#4 (comment) I would like to work on a local version of the web interface, using electron, if the source for the server/interface is provided. This would improve the functionality of that app as well, giving more control of the iron without having too swap wires so often.

I would also be happy to contribute to this feature, if the source was made public.

I look forward to any other feedback or improvements to my suggestion.

I agree, this would be a sweet feature. I don't think it's possible with our architecture--the hub doesn't have the ability to pass through these parameters through the rear port. We wanted to add this capability but it didn't make the final hardware.

We will take a close look at open sourcing the server console code!

Glad to hear you're looking at open sourcing the code!

I had suspected that the hub might not support it. I wonder if it's something that could be added in software, or a physical limitation of the hub?
