commit xy not found even though commit exists

Sometimes on initialization, there's an error

can't find commit xyzabcd (though commit xyzabcde is existant" - see image

Turns out this happens if the branch of the commit is not pulled/checked out!

This in turn can cause #16

I have made it possible finding the commit also in the remote branches. I have forwarded a PR for that.
