That’s a great idea — having a way to bookmark or favorite specific languages/sections for quicker access would definitely improve the UX.

I’ll mark this as a feature request and update here once there’s some progress.

Thanks for being open to UI/UX ideas!

My idea focuses on integrating the favorites feature seamlessly into the existing app structure without cluttering it.

It involves two parts: (1) how to add favorites and (2) how to view them.

1. Adding Favorites - "Star" Icon

Add a "star" icon to the right side of each list item on both the main page and the sections page.

On the Main Page (Level 1):
Each language/tool gets a star_outline icon.
Tapping it toggles it to a star_filled icon and adds it to the favorites.

It works exactly the same way. This allows a user to favorite just a specific section (like "Python Loops") without having to favorite all of "Python".

2. How to View Favorites - "Favorites" Tab

I think that the cleanest place to put favorites is in a dedicated tab in the bottom navigation bar.
It could be the first item, so users who rely on favorites see them immediately upon opening the app.

The new bottom bar would look like this:

3A. "Favorites" Page - Static Option

The "Static Favorites Option" would be a simple list, but divided into two distinct, static groups:

• Favorite Cheatsheets (for Level 1 items)
• Favorite Sections (for Level 2 items)
  This grouping prevents confusion and lets users find what they want quickly. To provide context, the favorited sections should show their "parent" sheet.

3B. "Favorites" Page - Folding Option

As an alternative to the "static lists" idea, you could implement the "Favorites" page using a "folding" (or "accordion") UI. This would group all favorited items (both full cheatsheets and individual sections) under their parent language/tool.

How the "Favorites" Page Works
The [Favorites] tab would be the landing page.
This page would list only the parent cheatsheets (e.g. "Python", "Pandas") for which at least one item (either the cheatsheet itself or a section within it) has been starred.
Each parent cheatsheet name acts as a "folder" that can be tapped to expand or collapse, showing the favorited items inside.

(Note: [v] and [>] icons indicate a collapsed or expanded state.)

How it Works:

• If a user favorites the entire "Python" cheatsheet (Level 1):

  • The "Python" folder appears on the Favorites page.
  • When expanded, it shows a "Python (Full Cheatsheet)" item. Tapping this navigates to the full sections list for Python.

• If a user only favorites a section like "Python Loops" (Level 2):

  • The "Python" folder still appears on the Favorites page.
  • When expanded, it shows only the "Python Loops" item. Tapping this navigates directly to that specific section.

• If a user favorites both (as shown in the mockup):

  • The expanded "Python" folder shows all favorited items, allowing the user to either jump to the full cheatsheet overview or dive directly into a specific bookmarked section.

Pros of the "Folding" Approach:

• Better Organization: Groups all favorites by topic (e.g., all Python-related bookmarks are in one place).
• More Scalable: This is much cleaner if a user favorites many sections. The list won't become one long, unorganized "Favorite Sections" list.
• Intuitive Context: The parent "folder" always provides context for what the favorited section belongs to.

This method keeps the Favorites tab clean and organized, regardless of how many items the user bookmarks.
