On the meaning of the center parameter in the function srsf_align

Hi,
I am not sure to understand how the argument center in the function srsf_align works. In the documentation it is mentioned that it centers the warping functions. Does that imply that the warping function of a signal lagging the mean of the aligned signals would be modified so that in some intervals it represents an anticipation and in other portions it represents a lag?
