[Bug]: Skill chips are non-functional in Find Project section

What happened?

The predefined skill chips/buttons in the "Find Project" section are non-functional.

Examples:

• Python
• JavaScript
• HTML
• React
• SQL

Expected:
Clicking a skill chip should select the skill, visually activate it, or populate the skills input field.

Actual:
Clicking any skill chip produces no interaction or UI feedback.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open http://127.0.0.1:5000
2. Navigate to "Find Project"
3. Scroll to the "Your Skills" section.
4. Click on any predefined skill chip (Python / JS / HTML / React etc.)

Expected behaviour

The selected skill should be added to the skills field or marked as selected.

I'd like to work on this issue as part of GSSoC 2026.

Root cause (my analysis):
The predefined skill chips in the "Find Project → Your Skills" section are likely rendered as static `` or elements without any `onClick` event handler attached, or they may be dispatching events to a selector/state that is no longer wired up in the current codebase.

Proposed fix:

1. Attach a click handler to each skill chip that either:
   • Appends the skill value to the skills input field, or
   • Toggles an active CSS class on the chip and adds/removes it from a tracked skills array in state.
2. Ensure the input field's value is synced with the selected chips so the backend receives the correct payload on form submit.
3. Add visual feedback (e.g., a highlighted/filled chip style) so the user knows a skill is selected.

Tech involved: Python (Flask), HTML/CSS/JS (or React if the frontend uses it).

I can submit a PR with the fix and a brief test once assigned. Please assign this to me.

Some of the things which I observed are -

Observations

• The form accepts all required inputs (Technology Tags, Experience Level, Area of Interest, and Time Availability).
• Clicking the "Generate My Projects" button does not trigger any visible action.
• No loading indicator appears.
• The page does not redirect to the projects/results dashboard.
• Form fields remain unchanged after clicking the button.
• No success or error message is displayed to the user.

Possible Areas to Investigate

• Verify whether the button's onClick/onSubmit handler is being triggered.
• Check if form validation is silently preventing submission.
• Inspect browser console for JavaScript errors.
• Confirm that the API request responsible for project generation is being sent successfully.
• Verify routing/navigation logic after successful form submission (/projects or equivalent route).
• Check network requests in Developer Tools to determine whether the backend endpoint is being called and returning a valid response.

I can work on investigating and fixing this issue if it is available for assignment. Please assign it to me.

I understood the issue regarding the non-functional skill chips in the "Find Project" section. I can fix the chip interaction by adding proper click handling, visual active states, and syncing the selected skills with the input field/form logic.

I’ll also verify the project generation flow to ensure selected skills are correctly passed during submission.
