cinnamon-session-quit.py does not work

 * nvidia-driver-525

 * 64 bit

Issue
Since the last update no window pops up if a start /usr/bin/cinnamon-session-quit --reboot for example. I have this on a keyboard shortcut.
Since the last update says this

" * cinnamon-session-quit.py: Set logout window to keep-above and all- workspaces."

I suspect, there is something wrong. If I revert back to 6.0.3 (thank you guys for the Timeshift/BTRFS integration) it works like always.

I use only workspace 1. I would disable workspaces, if the option would be available.

Have you rebooted since the update? It's possible there might be an issue immediately after the update, but I can't reproduce this otherwise.

Yes I did, since it is several days back. It works right after boot, but after some time, it does not work anymore. Sorry I can not give any more hints right now.

BTW also the signoff Bbttons in the Mint menu do not work either. So it is not just the keybord shortcut.

When I investigated the problem I think I saw that it checked /var/lib/dpkg/lock. I thought ok, it would not show up if an update is going on. But there was no update, it was an hour ago. But there was still an /var/lib/dpkg/lock file so I think it is saying, there is an update? I deleted the file but the session-quit still did not show up. I looked in the journal, there is no problem reported if I start cinnamon-session-quit.py. Also not in the terminal if I start it manually.

Can you enable session debugging:

gsettings set org.cinnamon.SessionManager debug true

You'll have to start a new session after this, but this will output a lot of extra information in your ~/.xsession-errors file. Please paste/attach the last 100 or so lines after attempting to log out (there shouldn't be any personal info involved here, but check in case before uploading).

Ok, I am back to 6.0.4 and turned debug on. As I see, it is still on after reboots. I will come back with the log file after it happens again.

Ok, after going back with a btrfs snapshot and reinstall all the updates I never had the problem again. I think, you can close this issue. Thanks nonetheless.
