keys like shift + arrow , ctrl + arrow don't work since they are longer then 5 keys and c4 is a ; which is not accepted by the reader

probably something to do with linux terminals ,in this case graphic term and tty work the same way

apart from having a database with info about each emulator it feel like it's not possible to know each time , it would only be possible to do for a majority of case

Supposedly this database exists inside Linux somewhere already and can be queried by application, but I never had the time to get into that

That would make sense and feel free to open a PR to support your specific findings and where they apply.

But are there also cases where a C6 is needed? And what previous values trigger a continued read?
So "just supporting it" is sadly not as easy as it sounds

C6 was indeed needed for the shift + arrow because it need the ; in the escape code for reasons and without it sent the rest as normal letter
I plan to look into it next week during vacations but I might trouble you with my lack of knowledge in terminal specific code and basic project methods

test.py I think the best thing would be to do a dictionnary like that (maybe not generated like that ) and simply add the valuable keys to the list of set keys
it could also help with thing like max length of input and what the intermediate chr in the escape code
