Use this variant:
react-native run-android --variant=gvrDebug

Use this variant:
react-native run-android --variant=gvrDebug

App is stock in loading from localhost:8081

Solved this by doing the following:

1. remove node_modules
2. use yarn from root and inside the sample app RNMapboxARDemo
3. react-native run-android --variant=gvrDebug
