No syntax highlight inside diff highlight

Happy user of the theme for a long time, but recently I discovered that other themes are capable of showing syntax highlighting for diff highlights, which I first imagined being a limitation of neovim as a whole (maybe it was in the past). The lack of syntax highlighting makes diffs a lot less readable.

A comparison with two other themes:

Material Design (Deep Ocean)

Tokio Night (Night)

Rose Pine (Main)
